2022 CCS Cross Country Championship Manual
ATLANTA - Huntingdon College will serve as the host of this Saturday's Collegiate Conference of the South Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. The women's championship race is scheduled to beg in at 9am CT, with the men's set to follow at 10am CT.
The women's race will be run at 6k on Saturday morning, while the men's race will be an 8k event.
On the women's side, Piedmont was tabbed by the CCS Cross Country coaches to claim the 2022 conference title by a narrow margin. The Lions were picked ahead of Maryville, Covenant, and Berea prior to the start of the fall season.
On the men's side, Berea was tabbed by the Men's Cross Country coaches to claim the conference title. The Mountaineers received all six of the first-place votes that they were eligible for to earn the top spot. Piedmont was picked to finish second by the coaches, while Covenant was predicted to finish third.

Course Description
Greenbrier is a beautiful tract of land located approximately 30 miles from Montgomery. The course is two loops for both men’s 8K and women’s 6K. The terrain is flat with some rolling hills with one significant climb of 550m. The running paths are 10 feet wide except for a few narrows that are 6 feet wide. The start is a flat 450m to the first turn on the course and the finish is a flat 400m straight coming out of the woods on the second lap. Spikes are recommended for the course.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine members and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
