ATLANTA, Ga. (October 25, 2023) – Covenant’s senior forward Kade Theunissen and junior defender Parker Rody have been voted the 2023 CCS Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively, by the conference’s head coaches, announced today by the league office. Belhaven’s graduate student goalkeeper Max Rudolph was voted Goalkeeper of the Year, while Piedmont’s freshman forward Davis Knight was named Rookie of the Year and Covenant’s Scott Bosgraf was voted Coach of the Year.

CCS Offensive Player of the Year | Kade Theunissen, Covenant
Theunissen, Covenant's senior forward, rises as the CCS Offensive Player of the Year. A vital presence in all 15 games he played this season, Theunissen has consistently posed a threat on the wing for Covenant. The senior forward has delivered seven assists, ranking second in the CCS. His exceptional performance was acknowledged earlier in the season when he was named the CCS Offensive Player of the Week on Sep. 19. The winger has placed 24 shots on goal throughout the season, contributing significantly to his team's success.

CCS Defensive Player of the Year | Parker Rody, Covenant
Rody, the junior defender for Covenant, earns the esteemed title of CCS Defensive Player of the Year. An integral part of the team, Rody has been a consistent starter in all 15 games, playing a pivotal role in Covenant's defense. The Scots have achieved five clean sheets, and they rank second in the CCS in Goals Allowed Average at 1.063. Rody's exceptional 1v1 defending skills and deep understanding of his role have been crucial to the team's remarkable defensive record.

CCS Goalkeeper of the Year | Max Rudolph, Belhaven
Rudolph, the graduate student goalkeeper from Belhaven, secures the title of CCS Goalkeeper of the Year, reflecting his outstanding season-long performance. Rudolph leads the CCS in several vital statistics, including saves (46), goals allowed average (.824), and shutouts (8). His remarkable achievements extend to a joint 9th position in the country with eight clean sheets. Notably, Rudolph has played a pivotal role as the goalkeeper for the team that conceded the fewest goals throughout the year.

CCS Rookie of the Year | Davis Knight, Piedmont
In a sensational debut season with Piedmont, Davis Knight emerges as the CCS Rookie of the Year. Leading the conference in goals scored (11) and points (26), Knight's exceptional performance has made a significant impact on his team's success.
