ATLANTA, Ga. (November 11, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.

BJ Brown (Huntingdon) was named Player of the Week, while Korbin Long (Covenant) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BJ Brown, Huntingdon
Guard  |  Sophomore  |  Birmingham, Ala.
 
BJ Brown led Huntingdon to back-to-back wins over SAA opponents, Sewanee and Oglethorpe. Across two games, Brown posted 26 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists, and seven steals, averaging 13 points per game. His all-around contributions, including a block, helped drive the Hawks to a strong start.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Korbin Long, Covenant
Guard  |  Freshman  |  Birmingham, Ala.
 
Freshman guard Korbin Long made a solid debut for Covenant, scoring 17 points over two games and averaging 8.5 points per game. Long recorded 10 points in a tough matchup against Sewanee and added five rebounds, five steals, and four assists for the week

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
