March to the Title: CCS Unveils 2024-25 Men’s Basketball Tournament Bracket

ATLANTA, Ga. (February 23, 2025) - The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has revealed the tournament seedings and bracket for the 2024-25 CCS Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, with the top six teams set to battle for the title from Tuesday, February 25, through Saturday, March 1.

The action begins on Tuesday, February 25, as the higher seeds host the first round at 7 PM local time. No. 3 seed Huntingdon (19-6, 8-4 CCS) will welcome No. 6 seed Piedmont (11-14, 3-9 CCS) in a high-stakes showdown, while No. 4 seed Asbury (8-17, 4-8 CCS), having secured the tiebreaker over Covenant on February 20, will host a rematch with No. 5 seed Covenant (9-15, 4-8 CCS) in another must-win contest.

The winners of these matchups will move on to the semifinals on Friday, February 28, hosted by Maryville College, where the tournament’s top seeds await.

Maryville (20-5, 11-1 CCS) and Belhaven (21-4, 11-1 CCS) finished as Regular Season Co-Champions, but Maryville secured the No. 1 seed after edging out Belhaven by one point in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) tiebreaker. The Scots will face the winner of the Asbury-Covenant game, while No. 2 seed Belhaven prepares to take on the victor of the Huntingdon-Piedmont matchup.

The tournament will conclude with the CCS Men’s Basketball Championship Game on Saturday, March 1, where the two semifinal winners will battle for the conference title and ultimate bragging rights.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
