Ethan Saiki (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week, while
Trey Mortensen (Covenant) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Ethan Saiki, Covenant

Covenant’s Ethan Saiki turned in a strong performance at the UNG Invitational, finishing fourth overall with a time of 26:39.8 in the 8K. The result marked a personal best by seven seconds as he once again led the Scots’ lineup.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Trey Mortensen, Covenant
Freshman | Naples, Fla.
Freshman Trey Mortensen continued to impress in his debut season, placing 11th at the UNG Invitational with a time of 27:26.2 in the 8K. His effort helped Covenant secure a runner-up team finish in the 12-school field.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
