Tucker spent her summer in Nashville, Tennessee, serving as a Student Researcher at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she worked in the LOR3 Lab and gained firsthand experience in surgical research and engineering.

"This summer, I have had the opportunity to be a part of surgical research at Vanderbilt University," Tucker said. "The LOR3 Lab at Vanderbilt University has provided me with the ability to learn and become immersed in surgical engineering. I have been able to translate book learning to clinical settings in the lab."

Outside of her research experience, Tucker found time to recharge by celebrating teammates at weddings, attending concerts, vacationing with family in Oak Island, North Carolina, and serving on a mission trip alongside her Asbury women's basketball teammates. She also enjoyed attending CMA Fest in Nashville and strengthening the relationships that extend far beyond the basketball court.

Reflecting on the summer, Tucker said one of her biggest takeaways was learning to focus on what she can control.

"This summer, I have learned that not everything is under my control," Tucker shared. "I can prepare and learn to manage what I am capable of, and let the rest unfold."

As she prepares for her sophomore season, Tucker returns to campus with valuable research experience, stronger relationships, and a renewed perspective that will benefit her both as a student and as a student-athlete.
