Piedmont's Nakiyah Washington Named CCS Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the Second-Consecutive Week

ATLANTA - Piedmont University's Nakiyah Washington has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the Week of November 28th, 2022.

Player of the Week | Nakiyah Washington, Piedmont (2x)
Washington scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Piedmont nearly pulled off the upset of No. 11 Tufts on Sunday afternoon. She made 13-of-18 free throws in the Lions' game against the Jumbos. It's the second straight week she has been recognized with this award.

Rookie of the Week | Laila Battle, LaGrange College 
The first-year posted 18 Points, six rebounds, and four assists in the Panthers win over Asbury on Saturday afternoon.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine members and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
