ATLANTA - Piedmont University's Nathan Mix has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South's Baseball Player of the Week for the week of March 27, 2023. 

Player of the Week | Nathan Mix, Piedmont University
The senior had a big week at the plate for the Lions. Over the course of three games, he hit .667 (6-9) and drove in six runs, while scoring four. Against Berea on Saturday, he was 5-5 at the plate and drove in six in helping Piedmont earn a split of the CCS doubleheader. He also stole three bases over the course of the three games. 

Pitcher of the Week | Brett Sanchez, Belhaven University (3x)
The junior was dominant once again throwing a complete game shutout win against Covenant over the weekend. He struck out 11 in the shutout and only allowed one hit and in the process, became Belhaven's all-time strikeout leader. It's his third straight complete game win, as well as his third straight double digit strikeout outing. It's also the third time this spring he's earned CCS Pitcher of the Week honors.

Rookie of the Week | Jabez Sampson, Huntingdon College 
The freshman helped lead the Hawks to a pair of wins over Maryville as he went 3-5 at the plate in the two games. He also drove in a run and scored a run to help the Hawks extend their winning streak to four games.
