Week 1: CCS Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 6, 2023) – Delaney Muldoon (Maryville) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Harley Waits (Belhaven) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Madison McDonald (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
OFFENSIVE – Delaney Muldoon, Maryville
Midfielder  |  Senior  |  Cincinnati, Ohio
 
Muldoon matched her season-high in goals in one game, scoring two against Principia. The senior midfielder also recorded an assist in Game 1 of the season. The Scots went 2-0 on the weekend.
 
DEFENSIVE – Harley Waits, Belhaven
Defender  |  Junior  |  Mobile, AL
 
Waits anchored the Belhaven backline that kept a clean sheet and did not allow a shot on goal and only one-shot attempt total.
 
ROOKIE – Madison McDonald, Maryville
Midfielder  |  Freshman  |  Anchorage, Alaska
 
McDonald scored her first career goal in a 4-0 victory over Principia.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
