ATLANTA, Ga. (November 18, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week.
Jacob Reese (Belhaven) was named
Player of the Week, while
Kyle Cloninger (Maryville) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.

Jacob Reese dominated on the boards for Belhaven, averaging an impressive 16.0 rebounds and 11.3 points per game during the Blazers' 2-1 week. Reese recorded two double-doubles and narrowly missed a third, finishing one point shy. His standout performance included a remarkable 20-rebound effort in a victory over Ozarks.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Kyle Cloninger, Maryville

Freshman guard Kyle Cloninger played a pivotal role in Maryville's 2-1 week, averaging 6.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Cloninger hit a clutch game-winning 3-pointer with 17 seconds remaining in Maryville's 68-64 comeback victory over Wisconsin-Eau Claire during the Marietta Shrine Tournament. Earlier in the week, he posted season-highs of nine points and seven rebounds in a narrow 79-77 win over Sewanee.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
