ATLANTA, Ga. (November 25, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Lucy Benson (Covenant) was named Player of the Week, while Ryley Jolly (Agnes Scott) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lucy Benson, Covenant
Guard  |  Sophomore  |  Memphis, Tenn.
 
Lucy Benson averaged 19 points over two games for Covenant, including a career-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting in a road victory over Welch. She added 12 rebounds for the week, including nine in a competitive game against Pensacola Christian. Benson also contributed across the board with five assists and four steals for a 1-1 week for the Scots.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Ryley Jolly, Agnes Scott
Guard  |  Freshman  |  Augusta, Ga.
 
Ryley Jolly delivered a standout performance for Agnes Scott, averaging 14.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. She was pivotal in the Scotties' 68-60 win over Salem College at the Hollins University Empowerment Classic, scoring a season-high 22 points with six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Jolly also showcased her shooting ability, hitting five three-pointers during the week, and is averaging 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals this season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
