JACKSON - The Belhaven Men's Basketball team was dominant from start to finish on Monday night, taking down Southeastern Baptist by a score of 92-33 inside Rugg Arena. With the win, the Blazers improve to 5-2 on the season.
It was all Belhaven from the opening tip as they jumped out to a 19-1 lead over the first seven minutes of action. The margin ballooned to as many as 48 with the Blazers leading it 55-7 at the end of the opening half.
A putback by Justin Reid at the 7:24 mark in the second half gave Belhaven their biggest lead of the contest at 83-21 before the Green and Gold cruised to the final 92-33 scoreline. Belhaven outrebounded the Chargers, 50-27, while outscoring SBC on points off turnovers by a 48-2 margin. The Blazers also forced 29 turnovers in the win.
12 Blazers got into the scoring column, led by 13 points from both Neal Terry and Jordan Williams. Jordan Marshall added 12 points, while DeMarcus Powe posted 11.
Belhaven gets set to hit the road at the end of the week to take on No. 20 Whitworth on Friday night in Spokane, Washington. Tipoff between the Pirates and Blazers is slated for 9:00 PM CT.
