TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 29, 2024) - The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced the full six-team, double-elimination bracket for the second CCS Softball Championship Tournament that will take place May 1-4 at the Samford Softball Complex on  Huntingdon College’s campus.

The CCS Softball Championship Tournament will open with a pair of games on Wednesday which will feature Piedmont, LaGrange, Maryville, and Agnes Scott. No. 4 seeded Piedmont (16-19; 10-6 CCS) will open tournament play facing No. 5 LaGrange (13-27; 7-9 CCS) at 11 a.m. (CT). Shortly after, Maryville (29-11; 12-4 CCS), who enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, will take on No. 6 seed Agnes Scott (13-24; 6-10 CCS) at 3 p.m. (CT). The winners for these contests will advance to the quarterfinal round.

Huntingdon enters this year's tournament as the No. 1 seed, boasting a strong 31-4 record overall and an impressive 15-1 record in CCS play. They hold the regular season co-champion title alongside Belhaven, clinching the top seed through winning the conference tiebreaker. The Hawks kick off their postseason journey on Thursday, May 2, facing the winner of the first-round clash between No. 4 seed Piedmont and No. 5 seed LaGrange at 10:00 a.m. (CT).

Belhaven, holding a notable 34-4 record and also 15-1 in CCS play, secured the No. 2 seed for the tournament and secured their regular season co-champion title. They earned the last bye into the quarterfinal round and aim to defend their CCS championship title. Belhaven's postseason begins at 1:00 p.m. (ET) on Thursday against the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 3 seed Maryville and sixth-seeded Agnes Scott.

The victors of Games 3 and 4 will advance to the semifinals, while the other teams will have a chance at redemption in Games 5 and 6 later that afternoon. The winners from these games will progress to the semifinal round on Friday. The ultimate championship game is set for Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m. CT, where the winners of the semifinals will vie for the CCS title.
