Shaylinn McFarland (Huntingdon) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week, while
Gretchen Caswell (Covenant) earned
Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
AnnaLi Weekley (Covenant) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Shaylinn McFarland, Huntingdon

McFarland made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, scoring two goals and adding an assist to lead Huntingdon to a 2-0 start to the season. Her contributions were instrumental in the team's victories over Millsaps and MUW.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Gretchen Caswell, Covenant

Caswell anchored Covenant's defense in a dominant 3-0 shutout against Berea. Playing the full 90 minutes, she led a back line that allowed just one shot on goal.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – AnnaLi Weekley, Covenant

Weekley had a standout debut, scoring a goal and providing an assist in just 46 minutes of play during Covenant's 3-0 win over Berea. She was a constant threat on the attack, recording five shots, three of which were on target.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
