ATLANTA, Ga. (May 2, 2025) - Piedmont’s Silas Goolsby made his mark on the 2025 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Track and Field Championship, capturing Track Athlete of the Meet honors after earning two individual titles and setting multiple school records. Belhaven’s Neal Terry once again dominated the field, earning both Field Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season after sweeping three jumping events and qualifying nationally in two events.
Huntingdon’s Rory Gilroy was voted Overall Athlete of the Meet after collecting four medals at the CCS Championship. Caleb Cablish of Asbury emerged as a standout newcomer, earning Rookie of the Year with two podium finishes in his first year.
Piedmont’s Jamie Jimison was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to their third straight CCS title.
The superlative awards were determined through a vote by the conference's head coaches, with team selections and meet awards based on the standout performances at this year's CCS Track & Field Championship meet.
Track Athlete of the Meet | Silas Goolsby, Piedmont
Goolsby of Piedmont, who delivered a dominant performance at the CCS Championship by capturing titles in both the 200-meter and 400-meter sprints. Goolsby also added a silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.25. His championship efforts capped off a stellar junior season that saw him set school records in all three events. Nationally, Goolsby’s speed has earned him recognition as he currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division III in the 200-meter.
Field Athlete of the Meet & Athlete of the Year | Neal Terry, Belhaven
Terry of Belhaven takes home dual honors as the Field Athlete of the Meet and CCS Athlete of the Year, marking the second consecutive year he has earned both titles. Terry swept all three of his events at the CCS Championship, winning the high jump (1.91m), long jump (7.06m), and triple jump (14.15m). His dominance extended beyond the championship, collecting four long jump titles throughout the regular season and consistently placing in the top five in long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault. A national qualifier in both the high jump and long jump, Terry leads the CCS in all three jumping events and holds the third-best mark in the pole vault.
Overall Athlete of the Meet | Rory Gilroy, Huntingdon
Huntingdon’s Gilroy was named the Overall Athlete of the Meet, voted on by the conference’s head coaches, following a standout performance at the CCS Championship. Gilroy struck gold in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.23) and the 400-meter hurdles, setting a personal best of 54.72 in the latter. He also helped secure bronze medals for the Hawks in both the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays. Gilroy’s efforts included six top-three finishes in hurdle events throughout the season.
Rookie of the Year | Caleb Cablish, Asbury
Asbury’s Cablish was honored as the CCS Rookie of the Year after a strong debut season in the throws. Cablish captured the conference title in the javelin with a winning mark of 47.31 meters and placed third in the discus with a distance of 39.06 meters. His consistency and impact were recognized throughout the season, earning him two CCS Field Rookie of the Week awards.
Coach of the Year | Jamie Jimison, Piedmont
For the third consecutive year, Jamie Jimison of Piedmont has been named the CCS Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to another team title. Under Jimison’s leadership, Piedmont remains the only men’s track and field program to have won the CCS Championship and has coached more than 50 student-athletes to all-conference honors during his tenure.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
