Week 3: CCS Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 15, 2025) – Kylie Wilhelmi (Maryville) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, while Kayla Robinson (Belhaven) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Ruby Walton (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kylie Wilhelmi, Maryville

Maryville senior outside hitter Kylie Wilhelmi powered the Scots to a 3-1 week that included sweeps of Oglethorpe, Warren Wilson, and Berea. Wilhelmi finished the weekend with 57 kills, five service aces, and two blocks, while hitting over .375 in three of the four matches, including a .500 mark against Berea. She also reached a career milestone by recording her 1,000th kill. For the week, Wilhelmi averaged 4.38 kills, 4.85 points, and 2.62 digs per set.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kayla Robinson, Belhaven

Belhaven junior defensive specialist Kayla Robinson anchored the Blazers’ back row, leading the team in digs across all four matches of a 3-1 week. Robinson totaled 72 digs to average 4.80 per set, while also contributing 20 assists and 11 service aces to spark Belhaven’s success.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ruby Walton, Maryville

Maryville freshman middle blocker Ruby Walton continued her strong start to the season with 31 kills on a .393 hitting percentage over four matches. Walton also added six service aces, eight digs, and two blocks, highlighted by a .583 hitting performance against Warren Wilson. She hit over .350 in three of the four matches and averaged 2.38 kills and 2.96 points per set on the week.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
