Week 1: CCS Men’s Golfers of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 17, 2025) – Jack Burr and Stephen Baker (Huntingdon) was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Co-Golfers of the Week, while Braden Kiley (Piedmont) earned this week’s Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Jack Burr, Huntingdon

Huntingdon senior Jack Burr turned in a top-five finish at the Gate City Invitational, tying for fifth in a competitive 96-player field. Burr carded rounds of 73 (+1), 72 (E), and 68 (-4) for a three-round total of 213 (-3). His performance helped the seventh-ranked Hawks place third out of 18 teams, defeating nine nationally ranked opponents, including four from the top 10.
 
CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Stephen Baker, Huntingdon

Huntingdon senior Stephen Baker matched teammate Jack Burr with a tie for fifth at the Gate City Invitational, finishing three under par across three rounds. Baker opened with an impressive 67 (-5) before closing with rounds of 74 (+2) and 72 (E) for a total score of 213 (-3). The Hawks’ third-place team finish came against a field featuring 18 programs, including nine nationally ranked teams and four from the top 10.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Braden Kiley, Piedmont

Piedmont freshman Braden Kiley delivered a steady showing in his first collegiate tournament, finishing tied for 43rd at the Gate City Invitational. Kiley posted rounds of 75, 73, and 75 for a three-round total of 223 (+7) on the par-72, 7,020-yard Forest Oaks course. His performance contributed to the Lions’ tie for 10th in the 18-team field.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
