Next Chapter Friday Feature: Sydney Evans, Agnes Scott College Graduate

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 19, 2025)Meet Sydney Evans—an Agnes Scott College graduate, standout basketball student-athlete, and former CCS Campus Connect Ambassador who's now turning her passion for design into a career.

While juggling academics and athletics, Sydney mastered key life skills that still serve her today—strong time management, adaptive communication, and the ability to grow from feedback. Introduced to Google Calendar her freshman year, Sydney learned how to prioritize and stay organized—something she still relies on as she begins her graduate studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), one of the nation’s top design schools.

Her experience as a Campus Connect Ambassador gave her the chance to merge her creativity with her passion for storytelling. Whether raising awareness about mental health, celebrating female athletes, or shining a spotlight on athletic trainers, Sydney was proud to use her voice to make an impact across the conference.

When asked about life after sports, her advice is clear:

"Your time as an athlete is preparing you for much more than the game. The skills you build—discipline, communication, and resilience—will carry you into whatever comes next."

Her definition of success has evolved from effort and teamwork on the court to milestones that reflect personal and professional growth. Getting accepted into MICA was a moment of affirmation—a sign that her creativity, vision, and talent are not only valid, but competitive on a national level.

And through it all, one quote has stayed with her, tucked inside her phone case from a fortune cookie at a team dinner:

“Embrace each day with an open heart and a keen eye for opportunities.”

We’re proud to celebrate Sydney’s journey and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll continue to make on and off the court.

Next Chapter Friday Feature is a new series highlighting former CCS student-athletes from across the conference who have transitioned from competition to life beyond sports. Each week, we’ll share their journeys—how the lessons, values, and experiences of being a student-athlete continue to shape their careers, communities, and lives after graduation.
