ATLANTA, GA. (October 30, 2026) - Meet Kyra Hornsby — a determined Agnes Scott College graduate.

After spending the summer working as a camp counselor, Kyra Hornsby began a new chapter of her journey by starting her MSc in Statistics and Data Science at the University of Bath in England. Having recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Economics, she is excited to continue building her analytical and problem-solving skills while exploring how she can apply them in her future career.

Throughout her time in college, Hornsby was also a member of the softball team, playing all four years and primarily taking the field as a pitcher. Having played softball since she was six years old, the sport has been an important part of her life, teaching her the value of teamwork, discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Being a student-athlete challenged her to balance academics with athletics while building lasting friendships and making memories that she will carry with her long after graduation.

Over the past few months, Hornsby has enjoyed taking advantage of new opportunities to travel and experience different cultures. She visited Paris and London, adding to her love of exploring new places and learning about the world beyond what she has always known. With so much more to see, she hopes to continue traveling throughout the UK and Europe while making the most of her time abroad.

Her summer as a camp counselor provided another opportunity to work with children, build relationships, and create a fun and supportive environment. The experience was a rewarding way to spend the summer before transitioning into graduate school, allowing her to continue developing the communication, teamwork, and leadership skills she gained through her years as a student-athlete.

As she works toward completing her master's degree, Kyra looks forward to entering the job market within the next year and putting her education to use. With a background in mathematics, economics, and data science, she hopes to find opportunities where she can use data to solve problems, uncover insights, and make meaningful contributions. For now, she is focused on learning, exploring her new surroundings, and embracing the opportunities that come with starting a new chapter abroad.
