WILMORE, Ky. – The LaGrange College women's basketball team won 73-61 against host Asbury University in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Saturday afternoon at the Luce Center Gym in Wilmore, Kentucky.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first quarter was all-LC as they looked to spoil the senior day festivities, outscoring the Eagles 22-13. LaGrange would hold a 38-30 lead at halftime.
• The third frame was a power-struggle as Asbury tried to claw their way back into the game, bringing LC's lead down to as much as four. The Panthers were able to respond, however, extending their advantage to 14 points with one quarter left to play.
• The Red and Black held off any comeback effort the Eagles tried to muster as they claimed an emphatic victory to finish the regular season 18-7 (14-2 CCS), their best finish since the 2023-24 campaign.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Senior guard Laila Battle (Smyrna, Ga.) led the Panthers with 22 points on the afternoon, tabbing three blocks, eight rebounds and a steal to her ledger as well.
• Fellow senior guard Amanda Mclendon (Orlando, Fla.) scored 14 points and posted six rebounds for her squad in the win.
• Freshman guard Adazhah Burrell (Melbourne, Fla.) enjoyed a 14-point, nine-rebound performance as she notched a pair of steals to her season total.
• Senior power forward Skylar Edwards (Canton, Ga.) tallied 11 points for LaGrange as she went 5-7 from the field.
• Asbury junior forward Ma'Kiya West (Louisville, Ky.) led the Eagles with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the losing effort.
