Panthers Crush Vikings in Baseball Action

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The LaGrange College baseball team won 16-4 at Berry College in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at William R. Bowdoin Field in Mount Berry, Georgia.

TOP PANTHERS
  • LaGrange senior first baseman Curt Bonner (Cartersville, Ga.) went two-for-five at the plate with four runs batted in on the night.
  • Freshman right fielder Tanner Morneau (Marietta, Ga.) went two-for-three with three RBI and two runs scored.
  • Graduate outfielder Jorge Fragoso (East Point, Ga.) was two-for-three at the plate with two RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base.
  • Freshman second baseman Collin McGhee (Ball Ground, Ga.) went one-for-four with two RBI, a walk and two runs scored.  
  • Freshman outfielder Ben Edge (Newnan, Ga.), last week's CCS Rookie of the Week, went two-for-three with an RBI, a walk and two runs scored. Through four games into his collegiate career, Edge is hitting .646.      
  • Freshman pitcher Brandon Bennett (LaGrange, Ga.) picked up the win, allowing just two earned runs in six innings.             
UP NEXT
  • LaGrange is back on the field on Friday when they travel to Huntingdon College for their CCS opener. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
