Week 1: CCS Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 10, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Rory Gilroy (Huntingdon) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside George Ketch (Piedmont) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Adyn Elliott (Maryville) was also tabbed Men’s Track Rookie of the Week and Kenneth Mills (Belhaven) earned Men’s Field Rookie of the Week.
 


TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Rory Gilroy, Huntingdon
Junior  |  Pace, Fla.
 
Rory Gilroy delivered a strong showing at the Mississippi College Opener, competing in two hurdle events for Huntingdon. The junior placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.90, turning in one of the top performances of the meet. Gilroy also competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing fourth with a time of 57.13 seconds.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – George Ketch, Piedmont
Junior  |  Clarkesville, Ga.
 
George Ketch set a new Piedmont program record in the hammer throw at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals in Mount Berry, Georgia. The junior recorded a mark of 49.26 meters, finishing in third place at the meet, to surpass the previous school record.
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Adyn Elliott, Maryville
Freshman  |  Pleasant Shade, Tenn
 
Freshman Adyn Elliott turned in a strong debut performance at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals. Elliott placed third in the steeplechase with a time of 10:43.76, a time that currently ranks second in the conference. He also set a new school record in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.77, finishing fifth in the event and moving to the top spot in the CCS rankings in the early season.
 
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Kenneth Mills, Belhaven
Freshman  |  Memphis, Tenn.
 
Kenneth Mills recorded a runner-up finish in the high jump at the Mississippi College Season Opener. The freshman cleared 1.85 meters to place second in the event.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
