Sloyan Delivers the Clinch as Lions Lock Up 6-1 Win Against LaGrange

DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's tennis picked up another conference win with another dominant showing on the court.

The Lions swept doubles while picking up five out of six singles wins, with Hattie Sloyan delivering the clinch for Piedmont.

Piedmont continued its conference dominance starting with doubles, where the team of Sara Senabia and Paige Kluba secured a 6-1 win.

Kluba picked up her first collegiate conference win as a member of the tennis squad.

The duo of Ella Kate Canaday and Kaleigh Stallworth followed with a strong 6-1 win at No. 1, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead over the Panthers.

In a close set at No. 2, the team of Jordan Ballard and Brooklyn Bolch secured a 7-5 victory, sending Piedmont to the singles matches with momentum.

Caroline Massaro started the Lions' singles portion with a win, retiring her opponent to win her match.

At No. 1, Kaleigh Stallworth brought home a 6-victory, setting up Sloyan to deliver the clinching victory at No. 4 with a pair of 6-0 wins. 

Sloyan continues to be instrumental in her freshman season for the Lions, securing yet another clinching match for the team. 

Piedmont dropped a match but made up for it with two more 6-0 wins by Jordan Ballard at No. 5 and MacKenzie Long at No. 6.

Piedmont wrapped up their regular-season home schedule with a decisive performance, with Sloyan recording the key win. 

Up next, the Lions travel to Maryville, Tenn., on April 10 with action set to start at 3 p.m.
