Lilly Brown (Huntingdon) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Tennis
Player of the Week, while
Michaela Krajcovicova (LaGrange) earned this week’s Women’s Tennis
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
The duo of
Malory Watkins and
Ariadna Zegarra (Asbury) was named Women’s
Doubles Team of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lilly Brown, Huntingdon
Senior | Guntersville, Ala.
Lilly Brown delivered a decisive performance at the top of the lineup in Huntingdon’s win over Agnes Scott. Competing at No. 1 singles, the senior earned a straight-set victory, 6-3, 6-0, before pairing with Katie-John Crow for a 6-0 doubles win at the No. 1 position. Brown’s results came in a 7-0 team victory, securing wins in both singles and doubles play.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Michaela Krajcovicova, LaGrange
Freshman | Bratislava, Slovakia
Michaela Krajcovicova turned in a perfect week in singles play, going 2-0 at the No. 2 position with a pair of straight-set victories. The freshman opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Belhaven before adding a 6-4, 6-0 result against CACC. In doubles, she teamed with Abigail Fuller for a 6-1 win at No. 2. Her performances came during team victories of 7-0 over Belhaven and 5-2 against CACC.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Malory Watkins/Ariadna Zegarra, Asbury
Junior/Senior | Garrard County, Ky. | Lima, Peru
Malory Watkins and Ariadna Zegarra posted a 2-0 record at the No. 2 doubles position, picking up wins in both of Asbury’s matches. The duo earned a 6-3 victory over Midway and followed with a 6-2 win against Covenant. Their results came during a 1-1 week for the Eagles, including a 5-2 team win over Covenant.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports.
