Maryville & Piedmont Each Earn a Share of the CCS Regular Season Title
ATLANTA - Piedmont University has earned the top seed for the upcoming 2022 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women's Soccer Championship. Piedmont finished the regular season tied with Maryville, as both teams finished with identical marks of 6-1-1 in conference play, but earned the top seed based on their head-to-head win over the Scots during the regular season.
For the complete seedings and schedule of the 2022 CCS Women's Soccer Championship, please see below. The Championship match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 5th and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.
By virtue of earning the top seed, Piedmont has earned a bye in the First Round of the conference championship, and will host each round in which they are competing throughout the championship. Their first game will be against the winner of Agnes Scott College and Wesleyan College.
Piedmont and Maryville both finished CCS play having earned 19 points. Maryville has earned the second seed, while Belhaven has earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming championship. Covenant earned the No 4 seed, while LaGrange is the fifth seed.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine members and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
