ATLANTA, Ga. (August 6, 2026) – For Agnes Scott College softball student-athlete Ellie Settle, this summer was about far more than a job—it was an opportunity to invest in others, grow personally, and create lasting memories through service.

Settle spent her summer in Mount Berry, Georgia, serving as a counselor at WinShape Camps. Throughout the summer, she worked closely with campers, helping guide, encourage, and mentor young girls while developing valuable leadership skills of her own.

"My summer at WinShape Camps was truly life-changing with all the life skills that I learned," Settle said. "I got a chance to really make a difference in the lives of all the girls I was a counselor to."

One of the most meaningful parts of the experience came from seeing the impact she had on the campers and hearing directly from their families.

"My favorite part of the summer was hearing from the parents about how much their child looked up to me," she shared. "I also made so many friendships throughout the summer and had the opportunity to serve alongside fellow CCS softball student-athlete Hannah Barnett."

Away from the classroom and softball field, Settle discovered just how valuable face-to-face relationships can be. Without relying on technology, she strengthened one of the most important skills she'll carry into the future.

"One skill I learned this summer was communication without a phone," she said.

As she prepares for her sophomore season with the Scotties, Settle returns to campus with new leadership experiences, stronger relationships, and a renewed appreciation for serving others—lessons that will continue to shape her both on and off the field.

When asked to choose one song that best captures her summer, Settle selected "Orbiter" by Noah Kahan, a fitting soundtrack for a season centered on growth, connection, and making a lasting impact.
