Week 3: CCS Men’s Golf Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 4, 2023) - Jeremy Edmunds (LaGrange) was named was Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Player of the Week, while Jay Manley (LaGrange) earned this week’s Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jeremy Edmunds, LaGrange
Sophomore  |  Charlotte, N.C.
 
Edmunds tied for 13th at the West Pines Collegiate, hosted by Oglethorpe University at the West Pines Golf Club, with scores of 72 and 74. The sophomore finished four-over for the tournament, with a two-round score of 146. The Panthers improved from a 305 to a 290, trimming 15 strokes off their opening round score, tying for fifth place.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Jay Manley, LaGrange
Freshman  |  John Creek, Ga.
 
Manley tied for 13th at the West Pines Collegiate earlier this week at the West Pines Golf Club. The freshman finished with scores of 74 and 72, with a two-round score of 146. The Panthers tied for fifth place in the tournament.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
