ATLANTA, Ga. (December 9, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Ebony Gayden (Belhaven) was named
Player of the Week, while
Nathalie Santana (Wesleyan) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ebony Gayden, Belhaven
Forward | Graduate Student | McComb, Miss.
Ebony Gayden dominated for Belhaven in their victory over Sewanee, recording 17 points and 17 rebounds for her third consecutive double double. The Mississippi native’s efforts have been instrumental to the Blazers’ success, as she currently averages 15.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Nathalie Santana, Wesleyan
Guard | Freshman | Tampa, Fla.
Freshman guard Natalie Santana had a breakout performance for Wesleyan, scoring a season-high 17 points and pulling down seven rebounds in a matchup against Bob Jones. Santana was lethal from beyond the arc, hitting a team-high five three-pointers.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
