National Athletic Training Month Spotlight: Chris Blocker, LaGrange College

This feature is part of our series of profiles showcasing members throughout the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) membership during the celebration of National Athletic Training Month 2024.

Chris Blocker is an Athletic Trainer at LaGrange College.

Here’s his story:

“The relationships I develop with my athletes, colleagues and coaches are second to none. It's something that I will always cherish. Whether it be through a conversation, social media or emails, it boils down to talking to them in an area of care rather than just showing off knowledge. It's like an old saying, 'People won't remember how much you know, but will never forget how much you cared.' I like to celebrate other AT's who are killing it, whether it be nominating them for awards, highlighting them on social media or just sending messages letting them know that I see them and appreciate what they do for others. I always want the athlete to know that no matter what happens that I have their back. Hearing someone say that I help them feel safe is the ultimate compliment for me.”
