ATLANTA, Ga. (September 9, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced an extension of its partnership with the City of Huntsville, expanding the league’s championship presence in the Rocket City.
The partnership, in conjunction with the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Huntsville Sports Commission, reflects a continued commitment to providing CCS student-athletes with high-quality championship and leadership experiences while strengthening the conference’s relationship with one of the region’s premier sports destinations.
As part of the extended agreement, Huntsville will welcome an expanded slate of CCS championship events, including the CCS Cross Country Championships and the 2026 and 2027 CCS Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships.
The partnership also extends beyond championship competition. This past summer, the CCS brought student-athlete leaders from across the conference to Huntsville for its annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Leadership Retreat, providing opportunities for leadership development, relationship building, service and conference-wide engagement. The conference looks to continue building on that programming in Huntsville as the partnership grows.
“We are excited to continue growing our relationship with the City of Huntsville, the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Huntsville Sports Commission,” said CCS Commissioner Beth Vansant. “What makes this partnership especially meaningful is that it extends beyond simply hosting our championships. From welcoming our student-athletes for our SAAC Leadership Retreat to providing first-class environments for championship competition, Huntsville has embraced our conference and the experiences we want to create for our student-athletes. As the CCS continues to grow in its fifth year of existence, we are intentional about partnering with communities that share that commitment, and we look forward to continuing to build something special in Huntsville.”
Together, these opportunities further establish Huntsville as an important destination for the CCS and its student-athletes.

Hosting the cross country championships here for the second year will prepare the CCS student-athletes for the postseason.”

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year.
