NORMAN, Okla. – Two Huntingdon golfers were recognized with the release of the Golf Coaches Association of America's Division III Ping All-America Teams.
Collegiate Conference of the South Golfer of the Year sophomore Jack Burr was a first team All-America selection with sophomore Brett Viator being selected to the third team.
Being the first two Hawks to receive All-American honors since 2021, each of these golfers contributed greatly to Huntingdon's successful season consisting of three team wins, four individual wins, and a tie for 6th place at the NCAA Championship.
Jack Burr finished as the 12th ranked golfer in Division III. With a scoring average of 71, Burr claimed two victories and three top-three finishes on the year. He was named the CCS Golfer of the Year, a first team all-conference selection, and now a first team All-American.
Finishing the season as the 3rd ranked golfer in Division III, Brett Viator received third team All-American honors. Beginning in the month of April, Viator went on a late-season tear, boosting his scoring average to 71.8 before taking first place at the Wynlakes Invitational and 8th place at the NCAA Championships. While at the NCAA Championships, Viator tied the lowest scoring round in tournament history in the third round, shooting a score of 64, eight strokes under par, allowing Huntingdon to climb from 11th to 6th in the leaderboards entering the final day.
