CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Covenant competed in its last meet before the CCS Championship on Friday night at Woodland Park, just down the mountain from campus. The Scots had lots of positives to build off of as both teams finished second out of four teams. Both squads edged out Sewanee, who has proven to be stiff competition in the past.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
- Lucie Demers led the Scots with an 11th-place finish, posting a 6k time of 23:58.14. It is the second meet in a row that she has crossed the finish line in 23:58.
- Finishing in 14th with a time of 24:51.50 for Covenant was Sarah Olson as she was just under a minute behind Demers.
- Kenzi Stapleton (17th, 25:14.32) and Aida Okie (19th, 26:07.27) rounded out the Covenant runners who placed inside the top-20.
- Maggie McGinley continued her senior campaign with a time of 26:43.76 to finish 21st.
- Claire Mellott (23rd, 26:59.07) and Leah Russ (24th, 27:29.27) also raced in the meet for the Scots.
MEN'S RESULTS
- Ethan Saiki was Covenant's top finisher once again, placing second with an 8k time of 26:14.83. It's his fourth top-four finish of the season.
- Alex Burns (12th, 27:06.93), Daniel Bowles (13th, 27:15.61), and Trey Mortensen (14th, 27:35.00) all ran strong races for the Scots.
- Coming in just inside the top 20 was Aidan DeVries with a time of 27:56.42 to place 19th.
- John Purtill (21st, 28:05.14) and Chandler Lines (22nd, 28:14.46) were neck-and-neck, coming through just outside 28 minutes for Covenant.
- Jacob Howington took home a 25th-place result after he crossed the finish line at 28:52.64.
