HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (October 24, 2025) – The stage is set for the 2025 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, debuting at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday, October 31, 2025. The scenic and fast course will serve as the battleground where seven men’s teams and eight women’s teams chase conference glory. With the league’s top distance runners primed for competition, fans can expect an exhilarating day of championship racing as individual standouts and team powerhouses vie for the coveted CCS crown.

Men's Cross Country
Covenant made program history last fall, capturing their first-ever CCS Men’s Cross Country Championship in commanding fashion. The Scots tallied 33 points to outpace second-place Piedmont by 12 points, showcasing their depth and determination on the 8k course.
Leading the charge was Josiah Mellott, who earned a third-place finish with a time of 26:49.06, marking his third top-10 performance of the season. Just steps behind, Daniel Bowles crossed in 26:50.79 to claim fourth, mirroring his strong showing from the previous year. Ethan Saiki finished sixth (27:24.63), while Samuel Harrelson delivered a breakout performance with a ninth-place finish (28:36.67), his best in three seasons. Chandler Lines rounded out Covenant’s scoring five, placing 11th (28:43.42) for a career-best result.

Women’s Cross Country
The Asbury Eagles soared to the top in their inaugural CCS season, capturing the 2024 Women’s Cross Country Championship with a team score of 42 points. The victory marked Asbury’s first conference title across all sports since joining the league.
Leading the way was Bailey Gassmann, who made her return to competition after a semester in the Adventure Leadership program. Despite limited training, she ran courageously with the lead pack, finishing as runner-up behind Piedmont’s Skyler Seeber.
Freshman Emma Groff continued her rapid rise with a personal-best performance, claiming sixth place, while veterans Ava Miller and Lily Anne Rinehart followed closely behind to secure All-Conference honors.
In all, nine of the 13 Eagles posted new personal records in the 6k event.
