MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Kicking off conference play at home for their final outing of the 2025 calendar year, Huntingdon Women's Basketball led from end-to-end en route to a 78-43 win over the Scotties of Agnes Scott College. The Hawks defense swarmed throughout the contest, forcing 30 turnovers and recording 15 steals to control the pace of the game.
First Quarter
Huntingdon set the tone for the afternoon early, opening things with a 14-2 run through the first four minutes. Guided by Makayla Ford's 3 steals and 5 points, Charity Shaw, Kiya Crayton, Deshauna Foote, and Dalyce Sanders each found their way to the scoreboard to establish the early advantage. The Scotties brought the difference back inside single digits with a triple at the 4:34 mark, but Ford and Ashanti Thomas brought the lead back up to as much as 20-9 nearing the final two minutes. Agnes Scott closed the quarter on a 4-0 run to bring the score to 20-13 entering the second period.
Second Quarter
Not to be outdone, the Scotties flew out of the gates with a 7-0 run to even the score at 20 by the 7:26 mark. Throughout the rest of the first half however, Huntingdon would limit Agnes Scott to just two more points, forcing six turnovers to fuel their 15-point quarter that extended the Hawks lead to 37-22 by halftime. Charity Shaw led the charge offensively, scoring 5 points of the 15 points with Sanders, Ford, Crayton, Abby Byrd, and Jayla Carter each joining to widen the gap heading into the second half.
Third Quarter
The Hawks hit their stride offensively, outpacing Agnes Scott to the tune of 20-10 through the 10 minutes to build upon their already well established lead. A 7-0 run through the first four minutes got things going, as Charity Shaw, Kiya Crayton, and Makayla Ford continued to find success offensively. The early offensive success allowed for Ashanti Thomas to push the advantage to 21, 48-27, by the 5:26 mark, and Ford, Dalyce Sanders, and Jayla Carter closed out the period with Huntingdon in front 55-32. Defensively the Hawks still dictated the pace, forcing another 7 turnovers to put themselves firmly in control with one quarter remaining.
Fourth Quarter
Outscoring the Scotties 23-11, the fourth quarter proved to be Huntingdon's strongest of the game, allowing the Hawks to cement their 78-43 victory. 9 different Huntingdon players scored in the fourth quarter alone, as Taff Bradley, Abby Byrd, and Jillian Baine each led the way with four points a piece while Ericka Hall, Kaylee Putnam, Ariana Abner, Katlyn Mathis, Jayla Carter, and Erica Rodriguez also cashed in to put the final touches on their final game of the calendar year.

The Hawks return to action at home on January 2nd, hosting Maryville College for their second consecutive CCS showdown. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM CT.
