Week 5: CCS Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (December 8, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Chase Morgan (Maryville) was named Player of the Week, while Parker Renault (Piedmont) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Chase Morgan, Maryville

Maryville senior forward Chase Morgan delivered a dominant weekend, powering the Scots to a perfect 2–0 showing against East Texas Baptist and Johnson & Wales–Charlotte. Morgan totaled 54 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, six steals, and three blocks across the two contests while shooting an efficient 63.6 percent from the field, 66.6 percent from three, and 90.9 percent at the line. His standout play earned him MVP honors at the Renasant Bank Classic.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Parker Renault, Piedmont

Piedmont freshman forward Parker Renault continued to establish his presence in the Lions’ frontcourt, collecting 23 rebounds over the week and recording his second double-double of the season against Baptist University of Florida. Renault finished with 18 points—12 of which came in the win over BU of Florida—and added three assists, two blocks, and a steal.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
