CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 24, 2025) – Covenant’s standout junior Ben Onufrock was named the 2025 CCS Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, while Belhaven’s freshman Harshith Anugonda earned Rookie of the Year honors. Asbury’s Jarred Miller was recognized as the CCS Coach of the Year after guiding the Eagles to an unbeaten run in their debut conference season.
Player of the Year | Ben Onufrock, Covenant
Onufrock delivered a dominant junior campaign for Covenant, going undefeated (6-0) in both singles and doubles play during CCS competition—all while anchoring the No. 1 position. Overall, he posted a 12-5 record in both singles and doubles on the season. His consistency and leadership at the top of the lineup helped fuel the Scots’ postseason push. Onufrock was a three-time CCS Player of the Week and also earned Doubles Team of the Week honors twice alongside his doubles partner Caleb Domkowski.
Rookie of the Year | Harshith Anugonda, Belhaven
Belhaven’s Harshith Anugonda emerged as one of the top young talents in the league, earning CCS Rookie of the Year accolades. Competing primarily at the No. 2 singles position, Anugonda held his own with a 3-3 record in CCS play and a 6-7 overall mark. His impact has also earned him a CCS Rookie of the Week award.
Coach of the Year | Jarred Miller, Asbury
Asbury head coach Jarred Miller was named CCS Coach of the Year after guiding the Eagles to a perfect 6-0 conference record in their inaugural CCS season. Under Miller’s leadership, Asbury not only claimed the CCS Regular Season Championship and the tournament’s No. 1 seed but also put together an eight-match winning streak en route to an impressive 11-3 overall record in their first active season in NCAA Division III competition.
Asbury led with four selections on this year’s all-conference team, followed by Piedmont with three selections. Covenant and Belhaven each had two selections. Maryville had one player honored.
The 2025 CCS Men’s Tennis Championship begins today with quarterfinal matchups as No. 3 Piedmont takes on No. 6 Huntingdon and No. 4 Belhaven faces No. 5 Maryville. The winners of these matches will advance to the semifinals on Friday, where top-seeded Asbury and No. 2 Covenant awaits. Chattanooga Champions Club will be the host with the championship match scheduled for Saturday, April 26, when this season’s CCS champion will be crowned.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
