MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (April 23, 2026) - With postseason play set to begin, the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its 2026 Men’s Tennis postseason award winners, as voted on by the head coaches across the league. Covenant’s Caleb Domkowski headlines the honors as Player of the Year, while Maryville’s Steven Fitzsimmons earned Rookie of the Year distinction. Maryville head coach Doug Corbett was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Scots to their highest postseason seed since joining the conference.

Player of the Year | Caleb Domkowski, Covenant
Caleb Domkowski delivered a dominant campaign to earn CCS Player of the Year honors, excelling at the top of Covenant’s lineup in both singles and doubles play. The junior compiled an outstanding 20-6 overall singles record, competing primarily at the No. 2 position while also earning time at No. 1. In doubles, Domkowski posted a 21-6 mark, all at the No. 1 spot. In conference play, Domkowski was nearly flawless, going a perfect 6-0 in both singles and doubles competition, with only one of his singles matches extended to three sets. A key contributor all season, Domkowski earned one CCS Player of the Week honor and four Doubles Team of the Week selections alongside teammate Ben Onufrock. He also becomes just the second Scot in program history to be named CCS Player of the Year and will join Onufrock as a three-time All-Conference selection, becoming only the third player in CCS history to reach that milestone.

Rookie of the Year | Steven Fitzsimmons, Maryville
Steven Fitzsimmons made an immediate impact in his first collegiate season, earning Rookie of the Year honors. The freshman posted a 10-4 singles record in dual matches, competing across multiple lineup positions and providing steady production throughout the season. He also excelled in doubles play, compiling an 11-5 record that included key victories at the No. 1 position. Fitzsimmons’ strong debut was recognized throughout the season, as he earned three CCS Rookie of the Week honors along with two Doubles Team of the Week selections alongside partner James Smith. He becomes the first Scot in program history to receive Rookie of the Year honors.

Coach of the Year | Doug Corbett, Maryville
Head Coach Doug Corbett continues to elevate the Maryville men’s tennis program, earning his first CCS Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Scots to an 11-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in conference play. Since becoming the program’s first full-time head coach in 2021, Corbett has focused on building a culture centered on player development and long-term success. That vision has translated into steady year-over-year improvement, culminating in Maryville earning the No. 3 seed in the 2026 CCS Championship — the Scots highest postseason placement since joining the conference.
 
The 2026 CCS Men’s Tennis Championship begins Thursday, April 23, with quarterfinal matchups featuring No. 3 Maryville against No. 6 Belhaven and No. 4 Piedmont taking on No. 5 Huntingdon. The winners will advance to Friday’s semifinals, where top-seeded Asbury and No. 2 Covenant await.

The tournament will be hosted at Adams Tennis Complex, with the championship match scheduled for Saturday, April 25, as teams compete for the 2026 CCS title.
