Summer Around The CCS: Charles Parnell Balances Family, Travel, and Tennis Across Two Continents

ATLANTA, Ga. (July 21, 2026) - For Piedmont University men's tennis student-athlete and CCS Campus Ambassador Charles Parnell, this summer was a blend of unforgettable travel, meaningful family time, and returning to the court.

Parnell spent part of his summer exploring France with one of his closest friends, visiting Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel, and Paris before heading to the Brittany (Bretagne) coast to reconnect with family. One of the highlights of the trip was attending the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he experienced the historic race circuit and its unique atmosphere firsthand.

After returning to Georgia, Parnell stepped into a coaching role as an Assistant Coach at Peachtree City Tennis Center—the same place where he developed his own game growing up. Between coaching young players and preparing for the upcoming collegiate season, he found the perfect balance between giving back to the sport and continuing his own development.

Looking back, Parnell says his favorite memories came from sharing the experience in France with family and friends while checking off a bucket-list visit to Le Mans.

The biggest lesson he takes into the new school year is adaptability. From navigating international travel to balancing coaching responsibilities and training, Parnell learned the importance of staying flexible and being fully present wherever he was.
