MARSHALL, Texas - The Belhaven Softball team fell in their Marshall Regional opener to No. 3 seed St. Thomas, 3-1, on Thursday afternoon at Jason Bell Park. 

It was a pitcher's duel in the early going as starter Macy Funderburk and her St. Thomas counterpart traded zeroes through the first three innings. A sacrifice fly in the fourth gave the Celts a 1-0 advantage before a double in the fifth doubled their lead.

St. Thomas added another in the sixth to go up 3-0 heading into the final frame, and Colby Hollinger lit up the scoreboard with a solo shot to left for the Blazers' lone run of the contest.

The Blazers will look to keep their season alive tomorrow when they take on Marymount in an elimination game at 1:30 PM.
