Nine CCS Baseball Standouts Earn ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. (May 27, 2025) – Nine student-athletes from five Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) institutions have earned prestigious recognition as 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region VI selections, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Selections are made by members of the ABCA and the All-America & Coach of the Year Committee, recognizing top talent across the country.

Belhaven Leads With Three All-Region Honorees
Belhaven’s standout trio of Kade MayTristan Pearson, and JD Weed were all honored following a historic season that saw the Blazers reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
  • Kade May earned Second Team All-Region honors as a pitcher, capping a career-best season with an 8–2 record, a 2.46 ERA, and four complete games—including one shutout—across 98.2 innings.
  • Tristan Pearson, named to the Second Team as a utility player, was the ultimate spark plug for Belhaven. The versatile junior hit .391 with a .542 OBP and led the team with a 1.002 OPS, walking or being hit 60 times while striking out just 27 times.
  • JD Weed, a Third Team selection in the outfield, showcased his all-around ability with a .316 average, a team-high 21 extra-base hits, and 16 stolen bases. Defensively, he was perfect in the field with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Piedmont Secures Two All-Region Selections
Piedmont earned a pair of All-Region nods with Zeke Swartz named to the First Team and Braden Simms to the Third Team.
  • Swartz, the 2025 CCS Pitcher of the Year, delivered a dominant campaign, finishing 6–1 with a 1.96 ERA and a league-leading 84 strikeouts. He twice earned CCS Pitcher of the Week honors and starred in a marquee win over No. 25 Emory with 13 strikeouts over 8.0 innings.
  • Simms, a third-team selection and now a two-time All-Region honoree, cemented his place in program history as Piedmont’s all-time saves leader (25). The senior closer tallied eight saves in 2025 with 30 strikeouts over 27.1 innings.

LaGrange Places Two on Third Team
LaGrange College saw Adam Dorn and David Smigelski earn Third Team All-Region recognition.
  • Dorn was a consistent force at the plate, leading the Panthers with a .390 average and a CCS-best 73 hits.
  • Smigelski brought the power, racking up 36 RBIs, 58 hits, and 14 doubles while clubbing three home runs.

Maryville’s Dunworth Recognized After Historic Season
Maryville’s Colin Dunworth was named to the Second Team after a phenomenal junior season that helped lead the Scots to their first NCAA Tournament win since 1974.
  • Dunworth was named CCS Player of the Year, finishing with a .374 average, a CCS-best .632 slugging percentage, and tying for the league lead with seven home runs. He added 35 RBI, 58 hits, 12 stolen bases, and was a defensive standout in center field.

Huntingdon’s Morgan Caps Career with All-Region Nod
Senior shortstop Cade Morgan represented Huntingdon on the All-Region Third Team following a breakout year.
  • Morgan hit .325 while notching 10 doubles, two triples, and a home run. He drove in 27 runs and scored 40 more, playing a key role in the Hawks’ Cinderella run to the CCS Championship and NCAA Regional appearance.
