Week 4: CCS Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 22, 2025) – Kylie Wilhelmi (Maryville) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, while Zoe Coelho (Piedmont) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Julia Wright (Asbury) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kylie Wilhelmi, Maryville

Maryville senior outside hitter Kylie Wilhelmi continued to be a reliable offensive leader for the Scots, posting 30 kills across two matches last week. She averaged 4.29 kills and 4.64 points per set while hitting .203. Wilhelmi also added 24 digs (3.43/set), three blocks, three assists, and a service ace to showcase her all-around play.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Zoe Coelho, Piedmont
Defensive Specialist  |  Senior  |  Roswell, Ga.
 
Piedmont senior defensive specialist Zoe Coelho anchored the Lions’ back row with 49 digs over two matches. She tied her career high with 23 digs in a win over Columbia College before setting a new personal best with 26 digs against Truett McConnell. Her consistency helped the Lions secure their first victory of the season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Julia Wright, Asbury
Setter  |  Freshman  |  Lexington, Ky.
 
Asbury freshman setter Julia Wright made her presence felt on both ends of the court, averaging 5.67 assists and 4.67 digs per set in a 1-1 week for the Eagles. Wright totaled 17 assists, 14 digs, and three service aces in a win over Anderson.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
