Judson's Brace Leads Lions Women's Soccer to 3-0 Road Win at Warren Wilson

SWANNANOA, N.C. - Piedmont women's soccer rebounded from a tough loss and won in decisive fashion, 3-0, at Warren Wilson on Tuesday afternoon in North Carolina.

Standout senior Sierra Judson was the offensive star, scoring twice while Molly Fitzpatrick tacked on an extra goal late to extend the lead even more.

Playing its seventh road contest out of eight so far this season, the Lions dominated possession and the shot count, but were held scoreless until late in the first half.

Then, on a free kick from an advantageous position, it bounced off the post and Judson was there to put it away for her second goal of the season.

The score remained 1-0 until early in the second half, when Judson delivered a blast from around 30 yards that was perfectly placed in the top of the net and just past the outstretched arms of the Warren Wilson goalkeeper.

With a comfortable lead, Piedmont was not done, as Fitzpatrick was able to settle a close range past and deliver a perfectly placed strike herself from outside the box that deflected off the fingertips of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The road warrior Lions will now travel to Mississippi for three games this weekend, starting with a CCS showdown at Belhaven this Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
- Judson's 43rd minute goal broke the scoreless tie after Piedmont dominated the shot count and possession throughout the first half.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Judson's two goal performance marked the sixth multi-goal performance of her career.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- The Lions have now delivered four shutouts in their five victories this season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
