WILMORE, Ky.--- Asbury women's soccer (4-2-2, 1-0 CCS) senior biology major Hannah Muncie scored two goals on Saturday afternoon in Wilmore, Ky., leading AU to a 1-0 start in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) play against Huntingdon College (1-5-1, 0-1 CCS).

The first CCS matchup for any Asbury team in the 2025-26 season was scoreless for the first 29 minutes until Muncie scored from outside the box, assisted by sophomore Lauren Davis. Neither team scored again until Muncie struck once more in the 87th minute, assisted by Anna Sparks. 

Muncie leads the CCS with six goals on the year in her first eight matches. She now has 22 goals in her career as an Asbury Eagle. 

AU led in total shots over Huntingdon, 25-8, and also in shots on goal, 14-4. Huntingdon's goalkeeper Madelon Machen played a strong match with 12 saves.

Sophomore keeper Peyton Steiniger had four saves for Asbury in her second clean sheet performance of the year, reaching 20 saves on the season. 

The Eagles were called for eight fouls, Huntingdon receiving two fouls in the match. Only one card was given out, going to Anna Sparks for Asbury. 

Tallulah Lafferty, Maggie Perry, and Steiniger each played the full 90 minutes for the Eagles defensively in the shutout.


"This was a really good way to start CCS play for us, and we want to keep the undefeated streak at home going as long as we can. With the heat, we had to stay focused on hydration. Collectively, we were strong today!"
