Berry's Program Record Highlights Track's Spring Break

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Evangelia Berry added a program record to her ledger to highlight track and field's spring break trip to the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Classic.

Berry's 38:01.23 in the 10,000m broke her previous record she set last season in Myrtle Beach, adding another noteworthy accomplishment to her stellar career thus far. She also contributed another personal best in the 800m with a 2:24.51.

In other notable women's results, Sophia Velleco broke her previous outdoor best in the 400m, running a 1:02.67, while Lucie Demers secured an 800m mark good enough for second in program history, as the freshman ran a 2:20.53. Claire Mellott added a personal best of her own with a 20:44.65 in the 5000m also.

Sarah Vannoy started her outdoor season with a brilliant showing in the 3000m, as her 11:01.07 not only was the best time in the event in Myrtle Beach, but the second-best time in that event in program history as well.

Greta McLean placed seventh in the 1500m with a 5:47.09, while Kenzi Stapleton ran a 41:00.10 in the 10,000m to come in eighth.

On the men's side, junior Ethan Saiki was the highlight, as his 15:21.68 in the 5000m was a personal best and the second-best time in program history for that event. He placed sixth overall in that event in Myrtle Beach.

On top of that, Codey Parrish added a personal best of his own with his 31.66m (103' 10") in the hammer throw, while Connor Moffat ran well in the 400m, landing second overall with a 53.55.

Aidan DeVries had a 16:12.94 in the 5000m to set a personal best there also.
