Hawks Secure Senior Day Sweep Of Asbury

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Welcoming Asbury University to Cannon Field today for a CCS Double-Header on Senior Day, #10 Huntingdon Softball made quick work of the eagles, taking the first game 9-1 in six innings before Addison Gaines and Madisyn Fruge combined for a no-hitter in a five inning 9-1 victory in game two. 

Today Huntingdon recognized the program's 10 seniors for their commitment to the program, both on and off the field. This year's seniors are: 

Game one

Huntingdon opened its doubleheader in dominant fashion, rolling to a 9-1 run-rule victory in six innings behind a balanced offensive attack and another strong outing in the circle from Allie Roberts.

The Hawks struck early, plating two runs in the first as Kylie Stephens delivered an RBI double before Kate Dinkel added a sacrifice fly. Huntingdon broke the game open in the fifth, scoring five runs on key swings from Riley Rudick, who drove in two with a single, and additional RBI production from Elli Loranceand Kamryn Miller. The Hawks tacked on two more in the sixth to secure the run-rule win.

At the plate, Huntingdon racked up 13 hits, led by Stephens' three-hit day and a two-hit, two-RBI performance from Rudick. Amaya Wommack and Taylor Au each added multi-hit efforts as the lineup produced up and down the order.

In the circle, Roberts was in control throughout, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out eight over six innings to earn the win.

Game two

Huntingdon completed the doubleheader sweep in emphatic fashion with a 9-1 run-rule win in five innings, pairing another explosive offensive showing with dominant pitching.

The Hawks wasted no time, jumping out to an early lead in the first on a two-run double from Riley Rudick. After a lone unearned run crossed for the opposition in the second, Huntingdon responded immediately, with Taylor Au driving in two on a double before Kylie Stephens added an RBI single to extend the lead.

Huntingdon continued to pile on in the fourth, highlighted by Stephens' RBI double, a run-scoring single from Kate Dinkel, and a two-run double off the bat of Kaylin Fincher to push the advantage to eight.

At the plate, Stephens led the way with a perfect 3-for-3 performance and two RBIs, while Rudick and Au each drove in two. Fincher also added a pair of RBIs as the Hawks totaled 11 hits.

In the circle, Addison Gaines was dominant, tossing four no-hit innings while allowing just one unearned run and striking out six. Madisyn Fruge closed it out with a scoreless fifth to secure the sweep.

The Hawks return to Cannon Field for the final time in the 2026 regular season on Wednesday, April 22nd against Emory University for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. Games are set for 2:00 and 4:00 PM CT.
