Week 1: CCS Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 8, 2026) – Sarah Vannoy (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Ella Potoshnick (Covenant) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Sarah Vannoy, Covenant
Sophomore  |  Woodinville, Wash.
 
Vannoy claimed the individual title at the Mountainside Stride on Saturday, finishing first among 37 runners with a time of 24:17. Her performance led the field and highlighted Covenant's season-opening effort.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ella Potoshnick, Covenant
Freshman  |  Glen Ellyn, Ill.
 
Potoshnick made an immediate impact for Covenant in her collegiate debut, placing seventh overall at the Mountainside Stride with a time of 25:59. Her top 10 finish helped the Scots secure the team title.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
