Week 4: CCS Men’s Golf Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 11, 2023) - Jzeke Dukes (Maryville) was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Player of the Week, while Tyler Williamson (Maryville) earned this week’s Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jzeke Dukes, Maryville

Dukes just missed winning his first tournament in Maryville colors with a second-place result at the Lane Group Las Vegas Open. The senior golfer fired rounds of 70 and 72 to finish at 2-under-par 142, or three shots out of the medalist position. Dukes’ play helped the Scots finish second as a team, just one stroke behind the tournament winner, Aurora.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Tyler Williamson, Maryville

Tyler Williamson posted his first collegiate top-10 result with a tie for eighth place at the Lane Group Las Vegas Open. Williamson posted rounds of 74 and then a season-best 72 to land at 2-over-par 146. The first-year Scot's efforts helped Maryville to a second-place team result by just one stroke behind the tournament champion, Aurora.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
