ATLANTA - Belhaven University's Dawson Albin has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South's Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 17, 2023. 

Player of the Week | Dawson Albin, Belhaven University
The senior was outstanding last week in leading the Blazers to a pair of CCS wins as he went 7-12 at the plate (.583) with eight runs driven in and five runs scored. He hit a home run and during the week, extended his hitting streak to 24 games.

Pitcher of the Week | Brett Sanchez, Belhaven University (4x) 
The outstanding senior earns the award for the fourth time this season after posting a win on Saturday against Berea. In the outing, he worked seven innings, allowing just two runs on three hits and struck out 11 for the Blazers.

Rookie of the Week | Curt Bonner, LaGrange College (4x)
The freshman hit .467 (7-15) with seven runs, three walks, a double and just one strikeout over four games for No. 13/16 LaGrange. He opened the week playing a key role in the Panthers’ 15-3, seven-inning, domination of No. 2/1 Birmingham-Southern (4/18). In that one, he went 1-2 with a double, three walks, an RBI and a whopping five runs scored. Bonner followed that with a 3-4 outing with two RBIs in the opener of a three-game set at Maryville (4/21), before going 2-5 with a run in the second game. He would then wrap the week 1-4 with a run. It's the fourth time this spring he's earned this award from the conference office.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year.
