ATLANTA, Ga. (September 19, 2023) – Kade Theunissen (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Max Rudolph (Belhaven) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Hyatt MacDonald (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kade Theunissen, Covenant

Theunissen tied a school record with four assists in the 4-1 win over Berry. In the same game, he also had four shots, two of which were on goal. On Friday, the senior forward tallied one shot in a 1-0 defeat to Averett.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Max Rudolph, Belhaven

Rudolph had two clean sheets in a row and has recorded four clean sheets on the season. The Alabama native has a .944 save percentage on the year and faced 22 total shots against Concordia (TX) and Sewanee last week.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Hyatt MacDonald, Maryville

MacDonald Scored a goal in all three of his team’s games on the week. The freshman forward led his team to a 1-0-2 record and a win at the Maryville Fall Classic.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
