ATLANTA, Ga. (March 19, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Kelsey Singleton (Belhaven) was named this week’s Men’s
Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
Caden Howard (Huntingdon) who collected this week’s Men’s
Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Parker Snelson (Piedmont) was also tabbed
Track Rookie of the Week and
Riley Everett (Covenant) earned
Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kelsey Singleton, Belhaven
Sophomore | Flora, Miss.
Singleton won the men's 400 meters at the South Alabama Invitational with a new program record time of 47.85 seconds. The Mississippi native ranks first in the region in the 400 meter race.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Caden Howard, Huntingdon
Sophomore | Navarre, Fla.
Howard took home thirteenth place in the long jump at the 2024 Falcon Classic and Multi (6.47 m). The Florida native ranks third in conference standings for the long jump.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Parker Snelson, Piedmont
Freshman | Hoschton, Ga.
Snelson finished in sixteenth place at the Bob Hayes Spring Break Invitational - Collegiate (2:06.09). The Georgia native is currently tied for first place within the conference for 800 meter run.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Riley Everett, Covenant
Freshman | Maryville, Tenn.
Everett broke Covenant’s shot put school record with a throw of 11.88m. The Tennessee native ranks first in the conference in shot put.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
